BIGBANG Marks 20th Anniversary With New Single “BiiiG”
It has been a big week for BIGBANG fans. As the legendary K-pop group celebrates its 20th anniversary, BIGBANG released a new digital single, “BiiiG,” at 6 p.m. KST on August 19.
The release marks the group’s first new song together in four years and four months, following “Still Life,” which was released in April 2022.
The timing made the comeback even more meaningful for fans. BIGBANG officially debuted on August 19, 2006, meaning “BiiiG” arrived exactly 20 years after the group’s debut.
In a 20th-anniversary video shared through the group’s official social media accounts, the members reflected on their two-decade journey, saying that they were able to shine thanks to the love of those who continued to support them. They also added that they are “ready for anything,” hinting at a new chapter ahead.

Why Is the New Single Called “BiiiG”?
With the word “BIG” stretched out with three i’s, the title “BiiiG” immediately brings BIGBANG’s name to mind. Released on the group’s 20th anniversary, the title carries even more symbolic weight as BIGBANG looks back on its past while moving into a new era.
BIGBANG is currently promoting as a three-member group consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, without former member T.O.P. After lineup changes and a lengthy hiatus, the group that helped define an era of K-pop is now beginning a new chapter as a trio.

“BiiiG” is a high-energy hip-hop track driven by a powerful beat and an addictive hook. G-Dragon participated in writing and composing the song, while Taeyang’s groovy vocals and Daesung’s powerful voice add their distinctive colors to the track.
The members were also closely involved in the overall creative direction of the release, from music production to visual direction and planning, allowing “BiiiG” to strongly reflect BIGBANG’s identity.
YG Entertainment described “BiiiG” as a song that most clearly captures who BIGBANG is today as the group reaches its 20th anniversary.
